How many more of those classes do you have to go to?

Alcoholics come to recovery through many different means. Some come courtesy of the courts. Some are threatened with divorce or losing a job. Some wake up to find themselves in rehab, wondering how they got there. And some lucky few find their way through serendipity (see what I did there, Dip folks?). The truth of the matter is that recovery begins when that seed is planted: “There is a solution.” Sometimes it takes a while for the seed to take root, but as he runs out of options, the alcoholic often turns to those seeds and begins to nurture them into a thriving recovery program.

My name is Laurie and I’m an alcoholic. And I never tire of that question, “How many more of those meetings do you have to go to?” As many as it takes to keep the weeds of relapse out of my recovery garden.
